Calculate Your Nozzle Size
Helpful Tips
- Round up to the nearest 0.5 nozzle size to avoid overloading your pump.
- Nozzle sizes are standardized in 0.5 increments (e.g., 2.0, 2.5, 3.0).
- Too small a nozzle = too much pressure = risk of damage.
- Too large a nozzle = lower pressure, but safer for your equipment.
- Match the nozzle angle to your task:
- 0° (Red): Max pressure, for tough stains on concrete.
- 15° (Yellow): Heavy-duty cleaning.
- 25° (Green): General-purpose cleaning.
- 40° (White): Gentle cleaning (cars, windows).
- 65° (Black): Soap application, low pressure.
Quick-connect nozzles are the most commonly used pressure washer spray tip. The universal quick release design allows for use in most manufacturer’s quick connect couplers, and the color-coded nozzles offer a variety of spray patterns to handle all power washing cleaning jobs.
A RED nozzle has a 0° spray pattern, which is great for cleaning cracks in driveways, but is also perfect for use as a long-range nozzle, cleaning roof eaves or second story windows.
A YELLOW nozzle has a 15° spray pattern and is the most popular spray angle. The 15° angle offers a cutting edge, to lift dirt from the surface, such as during pressure washing heavy equipment or farm equipment.
A GREEN nozzle has a 25° spray pattern and is used for power washing vehicles with fine finishes.
A WHITE nozzle has a 40° spray pattern, which is perfect for washing windows or anywhere you need a bit gentler spray, such as automotive detail bays.

Delivers a concentrated stream that can gouge or cut | Works like a scraper when used at a 15° angle | Most common nozzle for general cleaning applications | Wide spray pattern for washing or rinsing a large area | Low pressure nozzle for use with detergent injector |
Removing stains from concrete or other hard surfaces | Stripping paint, removing grease, mildew and stains | Cleaning dirt from siding, sidewalks, outdoor furniture, etc. | Washing vehicles, windows, aluminum siding and other delicate surfaces | Applying detergent, misting and rinsing |
